Since 1980, Greek wine has undergone a revolution in which quality, individuality and history are the hallmarks of a new generation of Greek wine producers determined to leave their mark abroad. Nowadays, there are large wineries, that own state-of-the-art equipment, and cooperative ones with significant potential in Protected-Designation-Of-Origin areas, fact that has improved their production.

In addition, there are small producers with family-owned vineyards and wineries who are focused on producing distinctive wines. The result of these efforts is that Greece is regaining its old reputation, acquired in ancient times.
